openoffice

can we stop calling openoffice "microsoft office compatible" now? it's not. the list of features it DOESN'T support is longer than the list of features it does.

hmmm, when i started this bog entry i was going to list all the features that weren't supported.

truth of the matter is. if you got locked into the the ms office suite because you used all the features it had over other word processing programs, congratulations, bill and steve's evil plan is working.

and no, i don't have an alternate solution ms word is probably the best word processing software available BECAUSE it has all the features. nothing wrong it that, and with some third party help you can run it on a mac or a linux box. so no real loss of productivity if you switch to those platfornms (have fun with the printer drivers though).
